Ethical and Fair Trade Policy

Home Products Basketware was formed in 1968, since which time the company has grown to become one of the largest importers of willow basketware in Great Britain.

Our aim has always been to trade constructively with our factory in Tancheng, China to ensure that both parties share the benefit of trade. As Home Products Basketware has grown in size, they have been careful to retain their core values.
Each year the company travels out many times to China to work with our manufacturing arm in the design and production of the latest products. The workers involved in the production of all our basket products are highly skilled artisans who enjoy higher wages than realistic average local expectations. Men and Women are paid the same rate for the same job and no child labour is used. Home Products Basketware have worked diligently to ensure working environments far exceed regulatory standards of health and safety - this includes the provision of airy, well-illuminated modern workshops.

Home Products Basketware policy is to pay our factory on time, in fact payments are usually made in advance, so that raw materials may be purchased without them getting into debt and therefore paying their workers on time.
By placing regular monthly orders, continuity of demand is maintained and the secure employment, that is vital in the development of growing business in countries such as China, is aided. Home Products Basketware have met serious supply issues, such as variable production quality, with patience and practical advice for improvement, which has enabled our factory to grow in tandem.

Home Products Basketware has provided several large capital advances - including major investment to aid acquisition of brand new warehouses, production units and offices. The company’s tenet remains steadfast that all workers,of affiliated organisations , should be afforded the greatest standards of respect and working environments.
